We have witnessed a lot of makeup trends making a mark in the previous year, and some of them, especially Smokey eyes are making its way into the New Year as well. Moreover, the initial stage of every New Year falls in the winter season, giving us women a perfect opportunity to flaunt our beautifully done eyes. Here, I am presenting you with a simple eye makeup tutorial, which can be easily manipulated to suite any color other than the one shown.
Smokey eyes come back each year as a dominating winter fashion trend and it looks very elegant and can suite a date as well as a formal occasion with the same ease. When it comes to a winter eye makeup shades, blue is a very good color that symbolizes winter, thus our following tips have a hint of blue:

Product needed:

  • Black eye shadow
  • Black kohl
  • Light blue eye shadow
  • Mascara
  • Highlighting shade
  • False lashes(optional)

Step 1

Classic Smoky Eyes

Conceal and prime (essential for oily skin) your eyes before you start, as it will help to hide the dark circles and other flaws and make the shadow stay longer.

Step 2

Apply a light shade all over the lid and below the brow bone too making the shadow stand out. Blend it with a blending brush, which acts as a highlighting shade too.

Step 3

There are two methods for this look:
a.  If you have a black cream eye shadow, then you can apply it directly. Take a decent amount on a flat eye shadow brush and apply it on the lid, intensify the shade if necessary. Apply the shade and then smudge it upwards.
b.  If you do not have a cream based eye shadow, then take a creamy kohl pencil and apply a very thick line on the lid, smudge it and extend it upwards. You can then add black eye shadow above the smudged kohl to make it more dramatic and long lasting.

Step 4

Now take the light blue eye shadow and apply it in the inner corner of the eyes ensuring that you do not extend it more than 1/3rd inwards.

Step 5

Now, blend the blue and the black together to make it look natural. Make sure that you include the crease region for blending and if required, create an edge with the black eye shadow. For un-even edges, take a Q-tip and a piece of paper, holding it over the eyes, use the Q-tip (dipped in makeup remover) to clean the edge and to create a sharp edge.

Step 6

Take a bit of the highlighter shade on a fluffy blending brush and re-apply the highlighter shade again under the brow bone.

Step 7
