When you start makeup as a beginner, you are either so young that your parents are unwilling to buy you all the things you want or you are so reluctant that you don’t want to buy multiple things. That is when the theory of multitasking comes to the rescue! You try using your lipstick as a blush, your eyeliner as your bindi, your eyeliner pencil as colored lip liner, your concealer as nude lipstick, and of course, your blush as your eye shadow.
Using the same product for multiple purposes saves money and even space when you have only space for a very few products in your small clutch bag to do makeup on the go. I am going to show you how to do an eye makeup using a blush. Since blushes are supposed to give you only a light flushed look, it is not as pigmented as normal eye shadow, so you will have to use a good primer/concealer underneath this to make it more vibrant and to prevent it from creasing less and lasting longer. You also have to be careful in choosing the blush shade as it usually comes in shades of pink or peach and certain shades when used as eye shadow can make you look sallow, or even like you have eye infection.
Here I am going to show you a tutorial on how to use blush as an eye shadow. Follow the simple 5 steps to achieve this look. .
The products I used here are:
- A Motives by Lauren Ridger Eyeshadow Primer
- Colorbar Blush in Peachy Rose
- Light brown color from KKCenterHK palette
- Lightest shade from Loreal Color Appeals trio in Aishwarya Rai
- Lakme Instaliner in black
- Lakme Satin Kajal
- Maybelline Colossol Volum’ Express Mascara.
Now here are the steps on how to achieve this look,
- Apply the primer in 2-3 dots over the lid, and blend it out.
2. Apply the blush all over the lid up until the crease using a flat brush in a patting motion; apply it over and over again until you get the desired pigmentation.

3. Using a fluffy brush, apply the light brown shade in the crease in a outward viper like motion, back and forth to blend the pink shade out and give it a more “smoother edges”.
4. Using the highlighter shade, apply under the brow on the brow bone. Make sure to blend the colour into the brown shade, so that there are no harsh lines.
5. Now apply the black liquid liner in an “almost cat eye” shape to make it more interesting and also line the bottom waterline with black kajal and apply 2 coats of mascara and you are done.
