This Short and Stout  Chambor Jumbo Kohl was part of a Chambor hamper I won a while ago.   The chic look of the pencil definitely was an attraction but like they say- we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, or a kohl pencil by its cuteness!

The Chambor Kohl is an intense black and doesn’t smudge a lot but compared to the Colossal Kajal and Lakme Eyeconic, it doesn’t really hold its own- specially in terms of wear time and in terms of smudging quotient. To test the wear time of the kohl, I wore it on my waterline at 2.30pm. When I checked it at 4.30pm, it was still there but 70% had faded. It hadn’t transferred much to the lower lash line and so, I didn’t end up with Kung Fu Panda eyes  but do note that this test was done at home. I haven’t tested it while I was out but the kohl doesn’t wear very well indoors so I don’t expect great things when I wear it out of the house. The kohl definitely smudges but not as much as the Himalaya or Lotus Kajal that I’ve tried; Himalaya smudges like crazy but the Lotus kajal smudges quite a bit too.

The pencil is easy to sharpen with a jumbo pencil sharpener. I have used the Faces dual sharpener with this and it works very well. Tip: Don’t sharpen any pencils that you use on the waterline to a sharp point; you could end up poking your eyes out.

Final Recommendation:  The Chambor Jumbo Kohl is a very chic pencil but that’s where the praises end. The kohl is jet black and well pigmented but smudges a tad bit and doesn’t wear well on the waterline even inside the house. You would rather pay the same amount of money and get yourself the Maybelline Collosal or Lakme Eyeconic
