How you care for your skin is utterly dependent on the type of skin you have: oily, normal, combination, dry or sensitive. Easing your dry skin isn’t just about what you put on it. It also depends on how you clean and prepare it for moisture. To know more about the right products just have a look at below mentioned points.

Cleansers for people with dry skin: In general, if you have dry skin, you should avoid using foaming cleansers and stick to ones that are more moisturizing. Dry skin lacks excess oil, so the worst thing you can do is use a strong detergent or soap. Try using a cleanser with an extra-gentle surfactant such as polysorbate 85 or 60, cocamidropropyl betaine, or caprylic acid, and make sure it has added humectants and emollients. Humectants, such as glycerin and hyaluronic acid, attract water and help the skin retain it. Look for formulations such as creamy lotion or cleansing milk. You’re also a great candidate for a cold cream cleanser, a cleansing oil, or a balm; they basically act on the same gentle cleansing principle.
Toners for people with dry skin: You’ll see less redness, less flaking, and your skin will feel soothed and comfortable if you pick the right toner for your skin type. Look for water-based formulas that are loaded with beneficial ingredients such as skin-repairing substances, antioxidants, and cell-communicating ingredients such as niacinamide.

Moisturizer for people with dry skin: Moisturizers are tremendously essential for dry skin as dry skin creates many skin related problems like wrinkles, itching, dull complexion and rough skin.
People with dry skin types should use a heavier, oil-based moisturizer. In case you have a very dry skin use petrolatum-based products. Creams that contain glycerin, dimethicone and hyaluronic acid are good for combating dry skin problems. Dry skin face cream or moisturizer must contain various important vitamins like vitamin A, vitamin E and vitamin C.

Tips for moisturizing:
• Always apply a moisturizer on a clean and slightly damp skin. It helps to seal in hydration.
• Dab small dots on your face and neck and blend in thoroughly. Use upward motion to do so.
• Start with your cheeks and then spread the moisturizer gently to your forehead and nose and lastly the chin.
• Don’t use a moisturizer with SPF at night, as it may lead to clogged pores.
• Don’t forget to moisturize your neck too.
• Avoid using heavy creams or moisturizers around the eyes as these could irritate them and cause puffiness.
