Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup Review

This is my second foundation from Clinique after the Superbalanced Foundation.  Clinique Superbalanced Foundation is a lightweight foundation which gives medium coverage to the skin.  Those who have used Superbalanced would agree with me that’s its one of the best foundations available.  I have tried and tested Perfectly Real Makeup for some time now, so here’s the review mean Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup Review

My Take on Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup:

This foundation comes in a small tube and is 100% allergy tested and fragrance free (please add some fragrance to this foundation – Clinique – it smells obnoxious).  Seeing “non-acnegenic” on a product’s pack is such a relief and true to the claims, I have had no breakouts with this.  I am not completely gung-ho about this foundation, will tell you why.

First, the good things.  Its a very lightweight foundation that gives light to medium coverage, though it won’t cover stubborn acne scars.  It blends into the skin nicely giving an even toned finish without feeling heavy on the skin.  This foundation can be worn daily because it feels more like a tinted moisturizer though if you have dry to combination skin, I think you would definitely need a moisturizer beneath.

You can use this foundation to get a natural finish without it making the face look cakey or muddy.  There are a lot of shades to choose from and I picked up shade No. 42 because it was the closest match.  This one doesn’t melt off the skin quickly, I have worn it through the summers, and it stayed put for quite a few hours with compact.

Now for the dampner, it has minute (I mean really minute) shimmer particles which though are not apparent when applied on to the face, they shimmer in all glory under artificial lighting and sunlight. This unique feature takes down the foundation a few notches, I hate shimmer and glitter in products, hence I wouldn’t mark it above Clinique Superbalanced foundation.

  • Non-acnegenic.
  • Provides light to medium coverage.
  • Does not make face cakey.
  • Feels light on the skin.

Cons of Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup:

  • Contains micro shimmer particles that gleam under light.
  • Completely odorless, I would have liked some fragrance mean Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup Review
  • Dry and combination skin type would have to moisturize skin adequately before application.
Would I Repurchase Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup?
I like the finish, the texture, and the coverage it gives to my skin, but I wouldn’t repurchase this foundation because I do not like shimmer or glitter in skin care or makeup products.  I feel shimmer highlights skin problems and hence is a complete “no-no” for problematic skin including mine.
