My Experience with Lakme Complexion Care Cream:
I found it at the Lakme counter and picked it up, not knowing how many shades were available or anything as it had just been launched. The shade I got is “Bronze.” Later, I got to know that there are two shades available Bronze for darker skin and Beige for light/medium skin. Sadly, I got the bronze shade which is a bit darker for my skin tone. I have w Lakme Complexion Care CreamVVVheatish complexion (I don’t know exactly, but the skin tone Deepika Padukone has!) with neutral undertones. The cream has the t ypical “Lakme” fragrance that all Lakme products have (I like it because it has a nostalgic vibe to it :p).
It is a bit thick in consistency th ough it blends out very well. I used fingers for application because a flat foundation brush just ate up the CC cream (you know how I talked about flat brushes having that special ”drinking” capabilities!) It blends like a dream! Because I have neutral (not yellow or pink) undertones, it suited me although made me look “bronzed” literally. It was like I had applied a beautiful bronzer all over my face! You need more than your typical BB cream, but that does not make you look cakey. Coming to coverage, it covers pores/minor spots with a breeze! It gave such a beautiful natural looking, non cakey, non madeup coverage like no other drugstore stuff I have used before, my skin looked airbrushed! The effect is somewhat dewy. I have combination skin, more oily during summers and in this rainy weather in Kolkata (it is raining like cats and dogs since weeks now!), it stayed oil free for only 3 hours.
I am sure in hot summers, it will make my t-zone oily in no time, that’s the only minus point in this otherwise fabulous product; however, I did not wear any compact and that must be noted because usually I always wear compact to stay oil free. It is most suitable for normal skinned beauties, dry skin beauties will love it as well and for combination and oily skinned girls, we surely need a compact and a tissue to blot!
Pros of Lakme Complexion Care Cream:
- Beautiful packaging, sleek and luxurious looking, love it.
- Gives smooth, poreless airbrush finish.
- Medium coverage, hides imperfections.
- Two shades available.
- Does not look cakey/madeup.
- Affordable.
- Quantity better than other BB Creams available.
Cons of Lakme Complexion Care Cream:
- Still not available everywhere.
- A bit heavy, oily skinned beauties definitely need to use compact.
- The color I got is “bronze” and looks dark, so the “beige” shade must match or be lighter, so I don’t know how fair skin tones will find a match.
- You need to use more quantity than your BB Creams, that way it adds to the heaviness.
Do I Recommend/Will I Repurchase Lakme Complexion Care Cream?
Yes definitely, give this a try and I am already thinking of buying the beige shade, to mix and match
IMBB Rating:
5/5.
