My take on Lush Big Sea Salt Shampoo :

This was my first lush product (Yay!!). I was initially skeptical seeing the unique texture of the shampoo. It was a bit odd to use the first time. It is not exactly a traditional type of shampoo that many of us are accustomed to. Sea salt gives a coarse chunky and a heavy texture to the product. When I tried it initially, I felt it was difficult as most of the chunks fell off my head before I started trying to lather. But after getting a hold on its consistency I found it to my surprise, the chunks broke down easily and it lathered up pretty amazing. It gave a slight tingly feeling and I instantly felt a clean scalp upon rinsing the rich lather.

It left my hair with a mild lemony scent which I found refreshing mean Lush Big Sea Salt Shampoo Review . The product actually stood by its name. After first wash, I did find my hair with that extra body and volume. It kept my hair in place through the day by also adding a natural shine.

I use this once a week as the big chunks of sea salt exfoliates the scalp. Hence, I see this more of a clarifying shampoo rather than a daily use shampoo. Also, owing to its exfoliating properties, it is likely to strip off essential oils from the scalp making it drier, so it is advisable to top it with a good conditioner. Apart from Sea salt and Lemon, BIG is just filled with many organic goodies like seaweed infusion, extra virgin coconut oil and vanilla extracts but also has sulphates.
Another issue that I found with BIG (or for that matter many other Lush product) is it’s packaging. It comes in a tub which makes it unhygienic and also difficult to use it in the shower trying not to get water in it. However, given its unique texture I don’t really see the product coming out in a pump dispenser as well.
Also, BIG falls in the high end of the pricing range but little went a long way and it lasted more than 9 months.
Overall verdict:
I think this is a great clarifying shampoo that can be used once a week for people with oily to normal hair despite a few minor draw backs.
