My Views

The MAC 217 brush had been on my wishlist for a while  . While I was confused between the Inglot blending brush or  MAC 217, of course the price factor was leaning towards Inglot , after reading tons of reviews online and a trial at the store, MAC 217 had win me over.  This brush was an impulsive buy, I had actually gone to pick up MAC Select Sheer powder and while conversing with the MUA, she told me MAC might increase 217 brush’s price again! It already costs a bomb and I do not wish to spend more, so it made sense for me to buy it immediately!

Absolutely love and adore this brush, it is best blending brush ever! The classic MAC’s white bristles looks stunning and you don’t feel like dipping in the eye shadow, because they will never be the same again but when you start using it, there is no looking back. The shape of the brush looks flat but it has oval- curvy edges which fit in the crease area easily, making the blending of eyeshadows super easy and quick. The bristles are densely packed, they pick up & transfe the color on the lids without any fallouts. Bristles are also feathery soft and do not feel harsh on the eyes.

MAC 217 is not great just for blending eyeshadows but it easily multi tasks as – applying eyeshadow/pigment all over, highlighting browbone, applying cream eyeshadow/base etc. MAC 217 definitely comes with a very long life and washing frequently does not have any adverse effect on quality. Although the way the brush is sculpted it looks like it has 1-2 frayed bristles and it remains so like that even after washing but it does not affect the blending work. I have seen plenty of images and it actually is sculpted like this only.

2. White bristles looks stained after wash too

Verdict: A+

Price: Rs. 1750

Recommendation: If you are looking for a good blending brush then MAC 217 is worth investing in. Not only  does it have soft bristles which do not shed/fray but it can be used in many ways. Highly recommended!
