Mango Body Scrub: Do it Yourself

Hi everyone,
On my last visit to Thailand, I found people there using mango extensively.  Apart from using it in food, it was also used for beauty treatments, though I didn’t find the time to indulge in any of the mango body treatments, I took a quick recipe of a body scrub from one of the Thai Nationals. Today, I shall be sharing the same with you.
Ingredients Required:

1. Mango
2. Honey
3. Oats
4. Essential Oil ( optional)
Method:
Scoop out the mango and blend the mango pieces in a mixer.

Mango helps in controlling acne and removing acne scars and dark spots on the face and makes skin more lustrous.  It is rich in Vitamin A and beta-carotene, which helps to rejuvenate and replace the dead skin cells thereby making the skin more fresh and sparkling. Next, add oats to it.

Oats are one of the best natural exfoliators available which not only makes skin softer, but also help in treating dry skin problems.
Mix them well. Now, add honey to the mixture.

Honey will give moisturisation to the body whereas oats will act as a scrub. Honey is an anti-irritant and is suitable even for sensitive skin types. It is excellent to keep your skin soft, supple and smooth. Honey in its purest form, can be used as a natural moisturizer and cleanser. You may read more about the benefits of honey in Somreeta’s article here.
Finally, add a few drops of your favourite essential oil.

Tada….your body scrub is ready. I have been using it on and off since past one month and believe me my skin feels softer and smother every time I use it.

Please excuse the spelling of lavender on the bottle, I got mine from one of the botanical parks in Ooty. I ignored the spelling and relied on the authenticity considering the rich aroma which I could sniff from the bottle.
