Being a working girl  and someone who hates touchups, I find the word long-lasting really working for me.  I mean, who gets time to go do their makeup over and over again between presentations, deadlines and never ending meetings ! So when Maybelline came up with 14 Hr super stay lipstick range I wanted to own at least one of them and bought one in shade Always plum.

Product claims:

• Super rich colour with super staying power.
• No dragging. No drying.

My views on Maybelline Super Stay 14 HR lipstick in Always Plum:

Always Plum as the name suggests is a lovely plum shade, which looks good in  my medium fair skin. I have yellow undertones and always use to think that colors with a bit of purple will not suit me, but this color looks great – like a beautiful plum rose, and  shows up very well on my slightly pigmented lips.

Now let’s talk about the formula, I have used some long lasting lipsticks in past. Mostly the long lasting lipsticks are very matt and drying in nature. I won’t say this is the most moisturizing lipstick, but for a long lasting lipstick it is not overly drying. Though I always wear this lipstick on moisturized lips, it feels dry only after 4 hours or so, which is quite good. About the 14hr claim I will say that it does stay for 8-9 hours (I eat lunch and one light snacks) but not 14 hours as claimed. It smells like cherries to me, which I like. However the smell is not strong or bothersome, and fades out in 5 minutes or so. There is something left too be desired in the texture- it lacks a certain creaminess but overall is very value for money.

It comes in a transparent packing with white cap, somehow I don’t like the packing, it is not very appealing. There is something slightly tacky about it which i cant put my finger on.

Pros of Maybelline Super Stay 14 HR lipstick in Always Plum:

• Lovely plum colour, suits yellow undertone skin (which most of the Indians have).
• Long lasting formula, 8-9 hours.
• Very pigmented, shows up well on pigmented lips too.
• Shelf life of 30 months.

Cons of Maybelline Super Stay 14 HR lipstick in Always Plum:

• Not transfer proof.
• Texture not the most creamy

Recommendation: Maybelline Super Stay 14 hr Lipstick in Always Plum is a beautiful plummy rose which looks great against my medium skin. The formula is pigmented, long lasting  and great to wear  but it could improve in texture. They definitely do dry and harden over time.
