Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup Review in Warm Golden
Guest Review (Medium Skin tone)
Since the time, Revlon launched its latest Revlon Colorstay Whipped cream Makeup, I was having this strong urge to try this. I first saw this on Revlon’s facebook page, and it seemed like melted chocolate to me, in which I wanted to dip my fingers, and yummmm (ofcourse, I was not going to eat that ) This mousse-like texture feels silky against the skin, with a “time release” formula that balances skin for a flawless long-lasting look. Provides medium to full coverage and withstands heat and humidity. Revlon also claims it to stay for 24 hours.
Available in 3 shades in India: Ivory, Warm Golden, Natural Tan
My color match is Warm Golden, which is a warm medium shade equivalent to the MAC NC30 coloring.
Price: Rs. 800 for 23.7 ml.
My Experience with Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup:
I chose the shade “Warm Golden” which is for medium skin tones. I have yellow undertones and this shade perfectly matches my yellow undertones. I have fair to medium skin tone and I thought the lightest color might be too light for me. The consistency of the foundation is different than any other foundation I’ve tried. It’s not like our regular cream foundations, it’s much more dense, yet very creamy and still has somewhat of a mousse-like feel.
Packaging: Revlon Colorstay Whipped creme comes in a glass packaging in the form of a heavy jar. It has a black lid which mentions the shade name and its staying power which it claims to be 24 hours. A plastic, white colored lid is provided on the jar. This white lid prevents any spillage of the product. I didn’t quite like the packaging, because it is bulky and I can’t carry it in my bag. Moreover, the packaging is unhygienic because one needs to dip fingers inside it. And yes girls, no pump!!! Aren’t we all fan of that pump dispenser which dispenses just the right amount needed. So this was a let down. But never mind, lets see further.
Application Method: I’ve experimented a lot with this foundation, and I’ve found that it’s not the easiest formula to work with. It needs some moisture to spread across my face easily, so it’s vital for me to apply a good layer of a lightweight moisturizer.

I’ve tried several different brushes, but I prefer to apply it with my fingers. The product glides across my face so much better with my fingers. When tried with my foundation brush, I could not blend it properly. But you may need to try what works best for you.
Coverage and Finish: The coverage is medium, which is buildable to a heavier medium. It leaves my face looking completely flawless. Reddened blemishes still peek through a tiny bit. Though I did not apply any concealor with it, still my blemishes seemed to haved faded away.
It feels very light on my face. It doesn’t give cakey or patchy appearance. It doesn’t give whitish cast to my face. The finish is a bit matte at first, but then changes to a more natural satin finish after 10-15 minutes of application. I didn’t find any need for setting it with a powder , probably it might be required if its too hot or humid.
It’s kind of funny because I’ve seen other reviewers mention that it actually looks better as it wears throughout the day, and I completely agree. After an hour or so, it seems to settle in and appear more natural, my face doesn’t need any touching up mid-day.
Staying Power: Though I havn’t worn it for 24 hours to check the claims, but I can definitely say, this foundation wears incredibly well and stays almost completely put until the time I take it off. I tried it for almost 8 hours and still the foundation stayed perfectly in place, apart from minor fading. My skin looked fresh even after 8 hours.
It hasn’t broken me out. I haven’t experienced any oil on my T-Zone after applying it for more than 8 hours. I have never felt the need to apply powder over it. After using it daily for about a week, I will say it is a perfect foundation for ladies who are looking for a medium coverage foundation. It will suit almost all skin types, dry skin people might need some extra moisturization prior to applying this foundation, so as to ensure a smooth blending.

The Bad part about Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup:
- Can sometimes be difficult to work with.
- Not at all travel friendly.
- Dipping fingers everytime is oh-so unhygienic.
- The standard fluid ounces for the majority of foundations on the market is 30ml. This foundation contains 23.7ml.
- Limited color selection.
Verdict: A
Price : Rs 800 for 23.7 ml
Recommendation: Overall, I loved this foundation. It’s great for every day, specially in summers. I love the finish and how light it is on my face. The only downside was its packaging, but other than that, I loved everything about this foundation. If you are looking for a medium coverage foundation with a natural look and long staying power, you’ll love this.
