I was going through some pictures of Kristen Stewart captured during the promotion of her film, and I came across one picture of Kristen Stewart that did not resemble her in the least. I was struck by the amazing makeup done on her and got completely inspired by the bold black eye makeup look that is primarily focused in the picture.
So here am bringing you my interpretation of the eye makeup worn by Kristen in this picture.I tried to incorporate as many elements as I could in the look. The final product may be considered as my interpretation of her look.
Tutorial:
Step 1: Start with a clean face and a bare eye. Moisturise your face and eye area thoroughly. Wait for few minutes to let all the moisture get absorbed by your skin before starting your makeup.
Prime your eyes. Apply a primer to your eyelids and blend thoroughly. A primer helps to keep the makeup creaseless and gets you a fresh look for a long time. Primer smoothens the eye area and provides an even base for your makeup.
Step 2: Make sure that you blend out the primer completely or your eye shadows will stick unevenly on your eyelid. In case your colors don’t show up, you can use a base of a lighter color. I have used a white base for my eye shadows.
Step 3: Blend out the base that you have applied so that the surface of the eyes is evened out completely.
Step 4: Apply a matte white color to the inner half of your eyelid. A white shadow can be seen in the inner half of Kristen’s eyes in the picture. Apply the white almost halfway through the eyelid. Pat the color onto your eyelid instead of dragging the brush through. This will allow the brush to deposit the color evenly onto the eyelid.
Step 5: Now using a light brown, which should also be matte, apply the brown on the outer area of your eyelid.
I have used a lighter shade of brown in this step so that I can blend the darker shade into the white through this lighter shade easily. If we use a darker shade directly, the white and the dark shade will clash.
Step 6: Blend the brown that you have applied thoroughly into the white till about halfway of the eyelid.
Step 7: Now taking a very dark shimmery chocolate brown shade, apply it on the outermost corner of your eyelid. Pat the color onto the lid instead of dragging the brush in order to prevent any fallout.
Step 8: Blend the darker brown through the outer eyelid and through the crease to create a defined eye shape through the crease and the outer eyelid.
Step 9: Apply a grey shade blended with a light brown onto your lower lash line. And blend thoroughly.
Step 10: As we look at Kristen’s picture, we can see that she has very bold and defined winged eyeliner on her upper lash line. Draw very carefully a defined wing on the outer half of your eye lining the wing with your lower lash line and fill in the wing.
It is better to start with the wing and then proceed to line the rest of your eye.
Step 11: Once you are happy with the shape of your winged liner, start lining the rest of your eye.
Looking again at the picture, we can see that Kristen has left the innermost corner of her eyes unlined. So start your eyeliner from a little farther from the inner corner of your eyes. Also line your lower lash line with a strong black liner. Take care and don’t apply any black liner on your waterline.
Step 12: Apply a white liner on your waterline. Kristen also has a white lined waterline.
Step 13: Once you are happy with the outcome, deepen the black liner on your winged eyeliner and on your lower lash line.
Also, Kristen here has much defined eyebrows, so if you would like, fill in and define your eyebrows also. Apply a highlighter color on your brow bone, complete the look by applying mascara your lashes and you’re done.
Here’s the final look compared to the Kristen’s look:
