Hello Everyone,
Today’s review is on Banjara’s Aritha Powder which I had bought along with the Banjara’s Shikakai Powder. I have used it about 4 times until now and I am ready to review it here. Read on to know my experience with the product.

Aritha powder is a natural cleansing agent and has all the goodness of this natural marvel. When used on skin, the powder cleans the pores and helps the skin breathe better. It also improves the texture of the skin over a period of usage. As a shampoo, it cleans hair completely. It is specially recommended for washing oily hair. The powder has excellent foaming and shampooing properties. It is also recommended for your laundry, woolen clothes, silver and gold ornaments and utensils.

My Experience with Banjara’s Aritha Powder:
The aritha powder comes in a sachet which is packed inside a cardboard box. I opened the sachet and poured the powder in an air-tight container to avoid any spillage. The powder is beige in colour and is finely grounded. I normally use this by adding water and mixing it with a dye brush. I then let it soak overnight and use this paste the next morning to wash my hair. The paste does not have any artificial smell.
I did not notice any foaming when I tried massaging it on my scalp. I covered all my hair with the paste and let it remain for about 10 minutes after which I washed it with water. It did take a little more water to wash this off. I was amazed to see that my scalp felt clean and fresh after using this paste as a shampoo. The only issue was that this did not condition my hair but when I tried using this along with the shikakai powder, my hair felt a little better but not the effect that you would get with a shampoo and conditioner. My hair felt healthy post use and had this subtle shine. I did not notice any bounce in my hair after using this product. It did not cause me hair fall, so I was very happy with it. To overcome the little dryness that it imparted, I followed it up by oiling my hair and washing and conditioning it the next day.
Pros of Banjara’s Aritha Powder:
- Cleans the scalp very well.
- Gives a fresh feeling to the scalp.
- Did not cause hair fall.
- Hair feels healthy and has a subtle shine post use.
- Inexpensive.
- Quantity is sufficient to use 5-6 times for mid length hair.
- No artificial smell.
Cons of Banjara’s Aritha Powder:
- Dried out my hair a bit, though applying oil and washing hair the next day helped me overcome this problem.
- Packaging could be improved.
- Availability might be an issue for some.
Final Verdict:
This is one of the cheapest natural shampoos available in the market. You can combine it with various ingredients to get the maximum benefit. I highly recommend this to people with oily scalp. If you have dry hair, follow it up with oiling your hair and washing it with a mild shampoo the next day.
