Colorbar Single Eyeshadow -03 Hot Wave Review

As I write this review I can barely hide my excitement (and nervousness too!) as this is my first ever review on BB. After being a silent stalker of this blog for nearly 2.5 years now, I decided to make my debut on the blog.  *announce*

Okay , so coming to the review ! For me eye makeup was always restricted upto liners and kajal, until last year, when I decided to try eyeshadows. After reading so many good reviews on Colorbar eyeshadow I was tempted to try them. And hence the addition of this gorgeous shade to my vanity. 

Price: Rs.300/- for 3 gms.

Shelf life : 3 years.

The shade:

Heatwave can be described as antiqued gold colour with a tinge of olive green . It has golden, bright green and multicoloured shimmers in it. The olive tinge in it not being extremely prominent , heatwave can be easily paired with any color. Its a very versatile colour, if you ask me. Whether it’s a wedding, or a cocktail party you’ve gotta go, or simply to the mall and any other casual event, this colour would totally fit the occasion. Its an effortless-ly glamorous colour! For a neutral eye makeup lover like me, it’s a must-have me thinks!!!  *pompom*

The texture:

Heatwave is a shimmery eyeshadow. But it transforms into a satin finish on the eyes. It add a subtle drama to the eyes and does not look OTT .  *haan ji*  The texture is soft and the shimmers are finely milled, not at all chunky! It does have teeny-weeny bit of fallout but nothing that cannot be taken care of by patting some loose powder under the eye. 

Pigmentation:

Heatwave gets great scores in the pigmentation department (just like its siblings from the range). A single swipe packs color of medium intensity on the eyelids. The shade can be build up to true-to-the-pan shade within a couple of swipes.

Staying power:

Uh-mazzzzzin-gggg is the word! This eyeshadow does not budge from my moderately oily eyelids, without any primer underneath, for at least 5-6 hours (haven’t tried it beyond this period. It may easily stay for longer, and much longer with a primer). Another thing that I love about it, that despite being a shimmery eyeshadow, the shimmer doesn’t travel crazily around my face.

However, it does not imply that it is tough to get rid of. It comes off easily from my eyelids with my Maybelline Eye & Lip Makeup Remover.

So, here are the Pros and Cons of Colorbar Eyeshadow Heatwave:

Pros of Colorbar Single Eyeshadow – 03 Heatwave :

1. Budget-friendly , immensely pigmented and soft in texture. Great for beginners like me!
2. Versatile, neutral shade.
3. Shimmery eyeshadow yet never looks OTT.
4. Lasts long even without primer beneath.

Cons of Colorbar Single Eyeshadow – 03 Heatwave :

1. Some fallout, due to shimmers.
2. Not apt for office wear since it is shimmery.

Would I buy Colorbar Single Eyeshadow – 03 Heatwave again?

Yes, definitely! I luuuuuv the shade and the little twinkle it adds to my eyes.

Would I Recommend Colorbar Single Eyeshadow – 03 Heatwave ?

A bigggg YES! For the price tag that these eyeshadows carry, these are the one of the best bets in the market. And the shade is beautiful and very versatile! Highly recommend it.
