Lakme 9 to 5 Lipstick Red Hot Review, Swatch

Lakme 9 to 5 Lipstick #43-Red Hot- Review /Swatch

Hello Girlies,
Today I’m going to review one of my most favorite red lipstick of all times, the Lakme 9 to 5 Lipstick in shade 43- Red Hot. This also happened to be my first Red lipstick ever and I had bought it right before my wedding since I thought I was then officially allowed to wear a Red lipstick. I always wanted to buy a red lipstick and when I went to the Lakme counter, they told me that it was a newly launched lipstick, and I quite liked a few and this one being one of them. I loved this lipstick to the core and finished with one and this is my second one.
This is like the most beautiful warm Red I’ve ever seen in a lipstick and is pretty long lasting as it claims.
What does Lakme say about the 9 to 5 lipsticks:
A high performance, color-fix formula developed in Italy; this creamy lipstick combines amazing comfort with staying power that keeps you looking fresh for hours.
How to apply
After lining your lips with a matching lip liner, fill the outlined area of your lips with these rich lip colors. Wait for two minutes for the color fix action to take effect. Now your lip color is set to last for hours
Price: INR 375

My Take on Lakme Nine to five lipstick in Red Hot:
Like I already said this is my second one, so you all might have already guessed how much I love this color. The lipstick comes in a classy tube which is quite sturdy as well…I have dropped it a couple of times and yet nothing happened either to the casing or the contents inside it. It is a deep maroon-ish red color, with warm tones and dries to a matte finish. It is actually a good color to wear for young and mature women alike but definitely not for teenagers. The lipstick is very opaque and gives full coverage in only two swipes. Also, it is very smooth to apply. However, when I looked closely at the bullet, I saw some multi colored sparkles, but then none are actually visible when the lipstick is applied. It is indeed a long stay lipstick, anywhere between 6-7 hrs, survives meals and hot/humid weather too and holds true to Lakme’s claim, but then it does get transferred to glasses and cups lightly. The only problem that I face sometimes is that it is very drying, and normally I do not have a problem with drying lipsticks except sometimes in winters, and then I use a clear gloss over it. That takes care of the drying part. I avoid putting a lip balm underneath because that decreases the staying power of the lipstick, but if a lip balm is applied over it lightly, I think the drying may not be that strong. It is easily available at Lakme counters everywhere and is good value for money, in my opinion, if someone doesn’t mind dry lips. The best part about this lipstick is that even though it is such a bright color, it does not bleed. I have worn this lipstick without a lip liner too and have had absolutely no problems.

On the right is one swipe of color, and on the left are 3-4 swipes
Summarizing the good and the not-so-good about this lipstick:
Great color for women with warm undertones
Very opaque, full coverage in two swipes
Great staying power, survives full meals
Decently priced
Easily available
Does not bleed
Great color for winters
Sturdy packaging
Very drying
Might not be liked by women in their teens
Apart from these two cons I can’t think of any other. I have used this color a lot and maybe I won’t buy any more of the same color but that’s only because I want to try matte reds from other brands.
And this is how it looks on me:
Hope you enjoyed reading through the post!
Good day!!
