I had been looking for my perfect grey eyeliner since ages! I wanted one with little or no shimmer but at the same time , one that is glossy and gorgeous. It was a difficult combination to get but not impossible and thus after a lot of research across makeup counters I got this lovely Lakme Absolute Shine Line eyeliner in Smoky Grey

Lakme says:

Rich intense color in one stroke that stays intense for hours. Create smoldering eyes with bold shades that redefine the look of liquid eyeliner.

• Water based formula.

Product: The liner is a gunmetal grey  with loads of fine microshimmer in it, however the microshimmer is really fine, and is seamlessly embedded into the formula, so these arent in your face glitter particles that scream “Sparkle” . The fine shimmer particles are pretty much unidentifiable and simply give a glossy look.  The liner is not runny and dries really quickly, almost in 3 seconds so you need to make sure you are quick with this. I need to put atleast 2 swipes to get a fine dark line on my eyes. It feels extremely light on the eyes. It stays on my eyes for around 4-5 hours after which the whole line lightens, but does not turn flaky. It is not waterproof, which is sad. The other day I washed my face with a face wash and I saw the liner was all gone from my eyes, the same thing happened when I splashed water on my face.

Packaging: It comes in a transparent slim tube with a gun metal finish cap. The applicator is a brush, very thin and sharp which aids in drawing very precise lines. The handle of the brush has just the right length to offer perfect control in drawing lines.

What I liked about it:

1. It is a nice color for those who want  something different from the normal black eyeliners.
2. Dries very quickly.
3. This does not have disco light shimmers in it, but fine shimmers which just add glossiness to the grey color.
4. Liner brush is thin and sharp.
5. The liner does not turn flaky after hours of wear.
6. Travel friendly packaging.

What I disliked about it:

1. It is not waterproof.
2. It is not long staying.
3. Have to work quickly since it dries fast
4. Unlike other Lakme eye products there is no mention whether it is dermatologically tested or not.

Final Verdict: I loved the Lakme Absolute Shine Liner eyeliner for its subdued shimmers that don’t attract unwanted attention. It is neither water resistant nor long staying which is a turn-off. But it feels light on my eyes and my pocket. Nice sharp lines and quick drying formula, perfect for someone who is always on a hurry.
