My Views:
When winters approach, my hunt for foot creams begin too, as this is the season when my feet tend to get dry a lot and cries for help before it starts to give me cracked heels. As usual I researched online before making my purchase and I decided to get the Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue. When I bought this I had this mental image of Krack Heel Cream ads that surfaces on TV during the winter season showing before & after images of heels. TBS claims exactly the same about this product and using it over 5 weeks now I have things to say otherwise. The cream is a greasy textured & light pink in color which melts on massaging. The tub packaging is convenient to use but the 100gm quantity I think is less if you plan to use it everyday. Since, the cream contains peppermint, it gives light cooling & tingling sensation which actually feels good. The texture being extra greasy, the cream does not sink into the skin immediately and it takes few minutes, so I had to avoid it using in the day time or else it gets all over the place. It is better to be used at night and wearing a pair of socks is must for me as I hate that greasy feeling it leaves behind.
To be honest, the greasy feeling on my feet didn’t bother me initially as I was expecting a miracle (imagine recently pedicured feet!) but using over a period it did not work as it claimed. It moistured my skin well but it did not make my skin softer and smoother to touch. I still feel my skin tougher around the heels area. Though I do not have cracked heels but I am pretty sure even if I had it wouldn’t have done anything for healing the cracked heels. It is no better than any other feet moisturizer available in the market for less price!
Pros of Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue:
- Peppermint gives cooling & relaxing feeling to the feet
- Convenient packaging
- Moistures the skin well
Cons of Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue:
- Does not make hard skin, softer and smoother as claimed
- Expensive
- Greasy texture leaves oily feeling behind which stays on for long
- Not suitable for day time – the oily feeling restricts movement
Verdict: B-
Price: Rs 570 for 100 ml
Recommendation: The Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue is just another moisturizing cream available in the market and does not really work “intensively” on the dry feet making it really pretty, soft and supple. Instead the texture is so greasy that you cannot walk around or else it gets all over the place. You do need to cover the feet with socks as it takes several minutes to get completely absorbed in the skin hence making it unsuitable for day time.
